Salary Range: Undisclosed Job Shift: Full Time The Benefits Analyst
is responsible for analyzing and administering company benefits and
wellness plans and programs. The Analyst partners with the Benefits
Manager to develop and improve processes and procedures and will
take the lead on implementing certain departmental initiatives. The
Analyst also provides technical expertise in maintaining benefits
within the HR technology system (HRIS).Essential Job Functions:
Benefit Administration Leads day-to-day administration of employee
health and welfare plans and programs.Reconciles insurance invoices
and determines monthly payment amount for self-billed benefits.
Provides vendors information needed to perform non-discrimination
testing, audits, and Form 5500 preparation.Ensures COBRA, Flexible
Spending Accounts, and 401(k) compliance by monitoring TPA
administration, auditing HRIS and carrier data, and staying
up-to-date on legal requirements. Assists with Affordable Care Act
compliance. Ensures timely distribution of required benefit
notices. Facilitates annual benefits open enrollment planning,
communication, and implementation.Documents benefit processes and
make recommendations for process improvement. Assists in
communicating benefit-related changes to employees and in the
development of communication strategies.Benefit Systems Maintenance
and ReportingEnsures accuracy and integrity of benefits data in
HRIS and reconcile enrollments against carrier data. Creates and
generate benefit reports from HRIS; analyze and interpret output in
order to provide census information, benefit metrics and trends to
internal and external stakeholders. Consistently reviews benefits
setup and functionality, troubleshoots interface errors, and
assists with system changes as needed.Wellness ProgramLeads
development and implementation of company wellness program and
provide ongoing management once implemented. Partners with
insurance broker and healthcare carriers to gather and analyze
wellness program metrics.Leave of Absence AdministrationFor
assigned area(s), serve as corporate liaison to leave of absence
Third Party Administrator in the ongoing management of leaves;
monitor TPA activity to ensure TPA remains accountable to
contractual agreements. Enters and maintains leave-related
information in HRIS. Partners with Payroll to ensure employees on
leave are paid in accordance with Agency policy and applicable
regulations, and with supervisors and regional HR staff to ensure
other leave processes are being followed and necessary information
is communicated to TPA in a timely manner. Communicates with
employees regarding pay, benefits, and premiums while on leave,
provide leave of absence policy interpretation, and address general
leave questions in a timely and accurate manner. Workers
Compensation Administration For assigned areas, monitor work
injuries, ensure timely filing of workers compensation claims, and
serve as corporate liaison to workers comp TPA, nurse triage
service, and other involved parties.Responds to employee and
supervisor workers comp questions. Processes check requests for
workers compensation-related billing.Perform other duties as
assigned Education The MINIMUM formal relevant education required
by the position. Relevant experience/certifications in lieu of
formal education will be considered.Bachelors degree in HR
management, business management or related discipline highly
preferred. Experience The MINIMUM relevant experience necessary to
qualify for the position. Experience in lieu of education is to be
counted as part of formal Education and not as part of the required
experience.3-5 years experience analyzing and/or administering
employee benefits; 1 year working with a wellness program highly
preferred. Other Qualifications: Expert knowledge in Benefits and
working knowledge of current legislation and development in the
benefits field; understanding of the applications of the various
laws and regulations on company programs.Experience administering
leaves of absence preferred. Experience with workers compensation
claims filing process preferred. Experience working with benefits
within HRIS or as a standalone platform; strong technical
problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and
troubleshoot application issues.Proficient in office software,
including strong Excel skills.Effective planning and organization
skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines of the various
programs.Analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to
identify issues and recommend/implement solutions independently or
collaboratively.Project management skills and the ability to manage
or support a project from inception to completion.Strong verbal and
written communication skills.High level of independence while
working effectively as part of the HR team.
