Job Description:

As an Electro-Mechanical Technician (UAS) at Matternet, your work will directly help bring our assets to life and make access to goods as frictionless and universal as access to information.

You will report to our experienced Production Manager, joining a growing, dynamic team assembling and maintaining a range of custom unmanned aircraft systems and support equipment.

The ideal candidate enjoys showing off their craftsmanship and has a passion through all stages of product assembly and iteration.

You Will:
Be responsible for assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles and support equipment
Able to use/navigate between multiple software programs to test, track, and communicate production related information
Understand and use technical documentation related to workflows, assembly processes, rework modifications, and maintenance procedures with consistency and accuracy
Evaluate and improve electromechanical system deficiencies
Perform through-hole and SMT soldering processes (familiarity with IPC-A-610 soldering requirements is a plus)
Perform wire harness assembly, terminal crimping, and cable routing.
Use precision measurement and assembly tools
Excellent at communicating ideas and problems to technicians, engineers, and quality teams
Be able to work independently as well as in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
Consistently produce high-quality workmanship

Requirements
Experience following complex instructions, schematics, and SOPs
3+ years of experience building aerospace-grade products with strict adherence to process and quality control
Prior manufacturing experience working with circuit boards, cameras, flexes, or other sensitive electrical systems
Experience supporting multiple teams and concurrent deadlines
Executing tests with specialized fixtures and equipment
Troubleshooting and reworking electronics or other complex mechanical assemblies

Great Additions:
UAS-specific assembly and maintenance experience
Various machine shop tooling and equipment experience
Solid understanding of Lithium-Ion battery technology and how it relates to UAS
Understand autopilots, companion computers, and dynamic electromechanical system behavior
A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate) highly desired
