members of the healthcare team to promote optimum imaging
procedures. Provides imaging services as defined by Title 17
(Radiologic Health Branch) and Title 22 (Department of Health
Services) for the State of California. Applying the principles in
assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and modifying patient
imaging care as an active, continuous process.Key

radioactive doses, calculating an confirming the activity to be
usedAdministers radioactive, adjunctive, and imaging medications.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following: Oral,
intravenous, intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous,
inhalationLimits radiation exposure to the patient and other staff
membersEnsures the environment is safe at all times for patients
and other staff membersExplains the Nuclear Medicine process to the
patient in a way that is informative but also reassuringPositions,
transfers and properly immobilizes patients as requiredPerforms
Nuclear Medicine scanning procedures to include instructing
patients and selecting techniquesPerforms scanning, reconstruction
of proper images, and post processingPreforms QA on all images
prior to ending the exam and sending images to PACSAccurately
completes documentation according to hospital and department
guidelines, e.g., EHR documentation of exam performed, rationale
for exam, tech notes, consent forms, etc.Preforms quality control
on Nuclear Medicine equipment based on recommendations from the
physicist, service engineer, and/or manufacturer as
requiredEvaluates personnel and department work volume and flow to
insure efficient departmental patient care prioritizing work
according to urgency and resources.Follows safety procedures and
guidelines and reports unsafe practices and conditionsConsistently
and appropriately follows Universal PrecautionsKeeps updated on NM
developments through professional journals, on the job training and
other educational opportunitiesMaintains clinical competency
assuming reasonability for continuing education and on-going
modality updatesAssists in performing first aid, CPR and
AEDParticipates in peer competenciesParticipates in the training
and onboarding of new team membersReports equipment issues to
clinical engineering and vendor service engineerIs aware of and
works within hospital and department safety guidelines, including
reporting potential hazards and hazardous behaviorUses appropriate
body mechanics and lifting devices as neededQualificationsGraduate
of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Registered by
the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear
Medicine, ARRT (NM) or NMTCB upon hire or within 4 months of
hire.Preferred: Siemens equipment experience Prior experience in
acute care hospital settingLicense/Certification/Registration
Requirements1. California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
License in Nuclear Medicine2. American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine (NM) or NMTCB for
graduates after 20073. BLSSalary Range:66.07 - 83.97 USD HourlyThe
