As the Mission Payload Chief Systems Engineer, you will have the
following Responsibilities:
--- Provide technical Leadership and Guidance to the PL System
Engineering personnel and support to SCMT sys engineers to
successfully manage the Mission Payload Spec and requirements
management, traceability and ownership (requirements development &
verification). Has PL ICD ownership (drive closure of PL ICDs with
SV, GND, SEIT) and oversee system engineering change management
process and represent the MPL IPT at engineering boards.
--- Ensure systems engineering consistency across SCMTs
--- Provide PL support (inputs) to the NGG OPIR program team (e.g.
PHSL, IMS, Giver/Receiver, TPMs)
--- Manage the NGG OPIR Mission Payload IPT Systems Engineering
staff
--- Manage the system verification and integration effort for 2
Payloads, including the planning and coordination required to
integrate the Mission Payloads with the OPIR Space Vehicle.
--- Provide guidance to a Systems Engineering team to include full
Systems Engineering lifecycle processes, from architecture and
requirements development through system verification, integration &
test
--- Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals,
roles, responsibilities, and objectives
--- Collaborate with government and customer representatives in
support of critical program reviews
--- Lead and perform technical planning, system integration,
validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness
analyses for total systems.
You will be a leader with internal and external interface to
suppliers, customer and Program (Ground, SV, and SEIT) and focus on
MPL technical baseline integrity, stability and soundness, and
executing verification planning and coordinating logistics across
organizational boundaries to ensure a successful integration of the
MPL with the Space Vehicle. You must have excellent presentation
skills and customer coordination experience, managing relationships
with internal and external customers and attracting and retaining
new business. You will be responsible for helping shape and develop
future products as well as executing in the support of existing
development contracts. We are looking for someone who is a
recognized expert in EO/IR analysis and modeling of focal plane and
camera performance, driving the development of innovative system
concepts, and to verifying designs meet their requirements. You
will serve as a senior authority in the company and will be a key
contributor to new proposal efforts, and will also act as a project
engineer on technical projects including generating plans,
monitoring program tasks, as well as tracking schedules, budgets,
and earned value. You will also supervise and direct engineers in
mechanical, electrical, and optical design tasks and trade studies,
and will also serve as a senior resource on failure analysis and
troubleshooting efforts, performing system debugging,
troubleshooting, and providing technical direction.

Basic Qualifications:
--- Extensive Electro-Optical systems engineering background
--- Strong customer coordination experience
--- Experience writing proposals and successfully bringing in new
business
--- Experience leading technical teams to meet cost, schedule,
and/or performance goals
--- Understanding of infrared sensor systems and supporting
mechanical and/or optical systems
--- Transition of high technology product from development to
production
--- Troubleshooting and/or failure analysis of sophisticated
hardware
--- Current Secret clearance (or equivalent) with the ability to
obtain a TS/SCI
Desired Skills:
--- Master's degree or PhD from an accredited college in related
discipline
--- Understanding of FPA manufacturing technologies
--- Demonstrated innovation developing advanced new
applications
--- Industry recognition as an Electro-Optics expert
--- Closed cycle cryogenic systems.
--- Vacuum packaging
--- MATLAB programming expertise
--- Radiometric testing and analysis of IR systems or sensors
--- Familiar with high vacuum and ESD handling requirements
--- background or familiarity with electronics and equipment
related to infrared video collection, analysis, and test
--- Understanding of reliability engineering and 6 sigma
principles.
--- Active Top Secret Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee
selected for this position will work part of their work schedule
remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed
Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed
during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate
work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our
employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day
work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules
provide employees with additional time away from the office and are
in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
