Operations
- 8 years of experience in a relevant functional area (e.g.,
business development/operations, management consulting, strategy,
and/or operations)Preferred qualifications:
- Experience effectively influencing and communicating with
partners from junior staff to senior leadership through verbal and
written communications
- Experience in Product Management, Technical Program Management,
or Product Strategy
- Experience and knowledge of machine learning, advanced
technologies, foundational, and applied Research
- Experience partnering with and influencing cross-functional
teams
- Multi-tasking and project management skills with attention to
detail
- Excellent analytical, quantitative problem solving skills, and
business judgmentAbout the jobProduct operations in Research
focuses on strategy, operations, and communication for driving
impact within the Research Product Area (PA) and across Alphabet
with our partner PAs.Partnering with the Vice President (VP) of
Product for the Research PA, the Research Product Operations
Cross-Product Area (x-PA) Lead, will drive impact and alignment
across partner PAs. The role ensures that Research focuses on the
most ambitious projects, delivers significant impact and
advancement for PAs, and establishes regular rhythm to track
progress. The role also ensures that Google Research Product
Operations is a high-performance function, operating with speed,
effectiveness, and at scale.Responsibilities
- Manage major Research/PA partner forums for multi-year
strategic planning, product reviews, and decision-making.
- Identify new opportunities for xPA collaboration and Research
impact on Google products, and ensure Research is helping PAs solve
some of their most challenging, long term, technical, and strategic
challenges.
- Develop common processes, best practices, and effective
operations that improve the Research organizations impact to our PA
partners and facilitate executive communications to ensure
alignment and maximize impact.
- Drive high priority projects that span multiple areas of the
Research PA and/or Operations which otherwise may not have a clear
single owner.
- Serve as an ambassador for senior leadership, helping distill,
and cascade strategic priorities to teams. Exhibit excellent
judgment on sensitive and complex issues, fostering collaboration
between leaders, teams, and functions.LocationGoogle is proud to be
