- Best Places to Work -About the Communications Specialist -We are
looking for a self-motivated and talented communications
specialist. In this position, you will be responsible for producing
high-quality content that builds brand recognition. -Your main
duties will be developing content and media campaigns as well as
pursuing media opportunities to share our company's brand,
products, and services. The ideal candidate will be an excellent
communicator, with brilliant presentation and organizational
skills. -This role sits on the social impact team and directly
reports to the Director of Communications. - -Responsibilities - -
- Create content for press releases, byline articles, internal
communications, award nominations, presentations, and more. -

- Coordinating and producing public relations activities
including pitching, placing, monitoring, and tracking media
coverage. Help manage media inquiries and interview requests.

- In coordination with the Communications Director, develop
communications plans including strategy, goals, and tactics. Create
and manage a content calendar. -
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new
contacts within the business and industry media. - -
- Building and maintaining relationships with journalists in the
education, education technology, and business industries (US media
preferred) -
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results. -
- Build relationships with thought leaders and media to grow
industry awareness - -
- Maintain an understanding of industry trends affecting the
company - -
- Manage projects for external PR firm and graphic designer. -
-Requirements and skills - -
- Proven working experience in public relations - -
- Exceptional writing and editing skills - -
- Proven track record designing and promoting successful public
relations campaigns at both a local and national level - -
- Establishing strong relationships with both local and national
business and industry media outlets - -
- Experience managing existing relationships with
education/EdTech journalists is a huge plus. -
- Flexibility working cross-functionally with a wide variety of
stakeholders, including marketing, product teams, PR/comms,
executive leadership, creative agencies, and more -
- Strong research and analytical skills, identifying topics of
interest with a clear point of view. -
- Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook,
Twitter, etc. -
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline-driven
