We approach projects that have the aspiration and riskiness of research with the speed and ambition of a startup.About the Team:We are exploring automated design for electromagnetic devices such as optical networking equipment, lenses, image sensors, and lidar systems. We are leveraging Google-scale compute, optimization, and machine learning in order to enable 10x gains in ultra-large-scale simulation and optimization schemes.About the Role:We're looking for a software engineer with electromagnetic simulation expertise, either FDTD or other types of algorithms. Beyond ensuring simulation accuracy and numerical stability, you will enable simulations to efficiently scale when running in Google's datacenters. How you will make 10X impact:Push the envelope and leverage Google-scale infrastructure to enable simulations of increasing size and complexity to run.Build and own the end-to-end simulators you develop. Your work will directly impact our users' ability to get things done.
