About you

To support our growth we're looking for a People Operations Business Partner to join our awesome team!

This role will be a key partner to the Senior Operational teams, while leading our People Operations team across the region and connecting with key Compass support functions to activate the Talent approach strategy. Supporting the Director of Human Resources, you will partner with key stakeholders to promote all People standards, Food program expectations and focus on enhancing the team member experience.

Key focus areas will be supporting the development and activating our People Strategy, leading initiatives with the team in areas of Talent Attraction, Talent Development, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, working closely with our Operations team to ensure we are providing a great place to work, retaining our talent and creating great careers for our team.

This role will be based in Mountain View, California.

The great things you'll do
Manage and support recruiting processes and ensure compliance with local and federal legislation. Responsible for overseeing salaried recruitment and supporting hourly recruitment
Manage learning and development programs for hourly and salaried employees, including programs and initiatives to provide ongoing learning and growth of associates and career development
Cultivate, develop and ensure a culture where employees feel cared for, respected and valued, where open and productive relationships exist between the management and the employees
Cultivate a proactive approach to employee relations with our Leadership and Management team
Utilize business reports that assist in identifying trends or issues in labor relations, diversity, turnover, employee relations, labor efficiency, wage and salary - which could have a business impact and recommend appropriate plans or necessary corrective actions

What we look for in the perfect candidate
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Hospitality Management/Integration, Statistics, or related degree; master's or legal degree preferred
HRCI or SHRM certification(s) desirable
3 to 7 years HR experience in a multi-site environment
Able to work with multiple stakeholders and leaders
Able to work in a team and influence across job functions and company levels
Superb communication skills honed in business partnering/advisory roles
Demonstrated ability to interpret information to make business decisions and recommendations; formulate people strategies within context
Experience in leading teams
Passionate about the employee experience and environment
Ability to teach and train various subjects to individuals and small groups
Strong business acumen with basic financial skills, ability to read and understand financial statements and budgets
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to understand and value the perspectives and backgrounds of all parties
Union experience is highly desirable
Strong understanding of employment and labor laws
Strong commitment to confidentiality
Able to stay calm under pressure
