We are seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist, Applications
Development, for one of our clients, an early-stage company that
has developed a unique platform for use in research, diagnostic
testing, and therapeutics. They microfluidics, imaging, deep
learning, and genomics to identify, isolate and analyze live,
single cells. Their technology addresses diverse applications in
the life sciences. The incumbent will join their System Integration
R&D team to develop and validate workflows their novel
platform. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented and
self-motivated, while likewise being a team player who is excited
about developing new technologies. This individual would enjoy
working at the interface of biology and engineering, with a proven
track record of thriving in an interdisciplinary environment and
transforming concepts into products. Responsibilities
- Work closely with hardware, software, assay development,
applications, data science, and bioinformatics teams to develop and
integrate biology workflows into their proprietary platform
- Run, maintain, and troubleshoot prototypes over various product
development cycles
- Design, execute, validate and optimize experimental plans
relevant to internal product development processes.
- Analyze and disseminate experimental results across internal
teams representing diverse scientific backgrounds.
- Work creatively and flexibly within the team to support various
external collaborations and commercial activities, including
training sessions, presentations, and user material generation.
Qualifications
- PhD in bioengineering, biomedical sciences, or similar fields
with 0-2 years of industry experience or Master's in related fields
with 5+ years of experience
- Hands-on experience with complex bioanalytical instrument setup
and troubleshooting; demonstrated ability to identify technical
issues, investigate, and propose effective resolutions.
- Product development experience in biotechnology, especially in
instrumentation development strongly desired
- Experience working with microfluidic devices desired
- Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) a plus
- Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and/or data
visualization a plus
- Maintain a high degree of ethical standard and
trustworthiness
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly organized and keen attention to detail in carrying out
experiments and documenting work
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced start-up
