Microsoft Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. Cloud AI & Advanced Systems Engineering (CAASE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for a phenomenal Systems Engineer with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.As a Senior Hardware Systems Engineer, you will be the technical voice to the program collaborating across several functional teams from Silicon to customers within Microsoft. You will be leading the system level validation and influencing architecture to deliver high quality solutions to the customers. You will also develop guidelines for e2e validation strategies, system bring-up, and system evaluation. This is an excellent opportunity to work on next generation architecture and provide innovative solutions to customers.We are looking for a Senior Hardware Systems Engineerto join the team. #CAASE - #AZURE - #CloudResponsibilitiesExperience working in the E2E solution space of the server design collaborating with several cross functional teams across silicon, platform, and customer teams.Experience in design, test, and debug of complex hardware technologies for product development.Develop guidelines for validation strategies, manufacturing, system bring-up, and system evaluation.Enable platform and solution level discussions, influencing architecture of the product and delivering to the quality goals across reliability, safety, manufacturability, serviceability, and performance.Learn, analyze, and work with new interfaces and subsystems, break down complex issues, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.Use statistical analysis methods to identify highly complex issues that may affect a range of feature or product design changes. Identify possible solutions to novel and complex problems.Own the engineering interface between the customer and development teams across silicon, platform, ODM vendors, and the factory test/calibration team in the form of a test/user scenario development.Collaborate in design reviews between dev teams and development suppliers.Perform NUD (New, Unique, Different) module feature analysis against supplier's capabilities and provide risk mitigation for identified gaps and schedule impact assessment. Analyze and evaluate build data for each module engineering build, presenting summary to the development team and adjusting test spec limits based on build analysis. Own a calibration source plan for the product, assuring a continuous supply of approved sources for the expected module/system life. QualificationsRequired QualificationsBS / MS Electrical / Computer / System Engineering or equivelent industry experience5+ years of relevant experience in electrical or system level design and validation across all stages of the development and release cycles for server products.Understanding of the server design lifecycle & tools is a must.Experience with hardware, firmware, & software (system & application stack) interfaces across all modules in a system.Experience developing hardware verification and functional test plans.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of high-volume server design and manufacturing is desired.Demonstrated ability to perform in a high paced product development environment. - -Demonstrated ability to lead design, test, and debug complex hardware technologies for product development.Knowledge about datacenters & operations at scale.Experience managing hardware programs through the entire product lifecycle. System engineering process & practices - requirements definition, architecture, implementation & validationSolid fundamentals of semiconductor & packaging technology.Experience assessing technical risks, driving solutions, and impact assessment.Experience working across disciplines and organizations to resolve complex issues.Strong communication skills (verbal and written).Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
