  • 6 years of work experience in product marketing, direct marketing, marketing program management or consulting

  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management within Google
  • Excellent project management skills, with ability to track multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables.

About the job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

As the Special Projects Lead, you will work closely with shopping leaders to shape the team vision, and be a thought leader that helps shape priorities and work across shopping Marketing Strategy and Operations as well as across Product Areas to ensure cross-functional success. You will also be responsible for conceiving and developing initiatives that do not neatly fit within the regular scope of business and may be inherently beyond current team's skill sets. Most of these projects will be at the alpha stage of development. You will get them off the ground to the point where our wider team can take them on, after proof of concept has been achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Establish team's priorities and lead strategic planning initiatives (e.g. quarterly OKRs, annual planning, etc.
  • Act as chief of staff for global leader, setting operational rhythm for the team, owning executive communications, meeting preparation and coordination.
  • Ensure seamless cross-functional and global coordination; Design and build key operational structures.
  • Help with project management including coordination with Events & Experiences, B2B and YouTube Marketing, Product, PR and ensure the team is meeting milestones.
  • Work with the leadership team to create executive-level deliverables, dashboards, and regular reporting as needed. Act as an internal consultant to the commerce Marketing team, outputting strategic recommendations to a prioritized list of open questions/problems to solve as well as conceive and develop project-based work.
