EHS Coordinator

Job Description Summary

This role supports the Global Occupier Services (GOS) Google account based in Mountain View, California. The EHS Coordinator will primarily be responsible for assisting the Cushman & Wakefield EHS Manager with building safety, including Fire Life & Safety, compliance, as well as implementing EHS programs.

Job Description


  • Inspect buildings and surroundings to locate hazardous conditions and potential fire code, OSHA and other violations

  • Identify corrective actions necessary to bring properties into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to concerned parties

  • Conduct follow-ups to ensure that corrective actions have been taken in cases where violations were found

  • Participates in inspection walks with regulatory agency representatives and communicates concerns effectively to internal stakeholders

  • Supports implementation of EHS programs and procedures, such as Hazardous Material Management, Universal Waste, Storm Water, and those having to do with OSHA compliance, and assists in development of associated procedures.

  • Escort members of different fire companies on unscheduled fire inspections of non-hazmat buildings as required from the city's fire marshal and fire chief.

  • File tickets in CMMS systems for tasks to be completed.

  • Helps drive safety culture on the account.

  • Supports the Cushman & Wakefield EHS Learning Management System.

  • Assists in investigation of incidents and preparation of reports.


  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of CAL OSHA and NFPA standards and regulations is desirable.

  • Prior 1-2 year experience in facility maintenance helpful.

  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask and work in fast-paced, deadline driven work environment.

  • Ability to work in a pro-active, solution-focused and collaborative manner.

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-team members, vendors, regulators and client representatives.

  • Computer knowledge is necessary.

  • Ability to travel to Google Sites in California Bay Area

  • California State Driver's License required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (equipment, ladders)

  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work

  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you

  • Regularly required to review printed material, drawings, and schematics
