Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or a related function
  • Experience with forecasting, reporting, and financial modeling

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer subscriptions, cloud storage, or loyalty programs
  • Excellent analytical and modeling skills, FP&A and/or project management experience
  • Proficiency with Google Applications Suite (Sheets, Slides, and Docs); SQL proficiency, and prior experience with SAP and Anaplan
  • Problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business acumen and ability to communicate with finance and business leaders
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentation writing and delivery
  • Ability to work independently and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, and comfortable handling ambiguity

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

In this role, you will provide strategic finance support for a growing consumer subscription product at Google, Google One. Google One is a cross-company subscription providing expanded cloud storage, access to Google expert support and premium member benefits.

In this role, you will support core and strategic finance initiatives for Google One. You will play a leading role in building and managing the long-term financial trajectory for the product, which involves business partnering across several product areas finance and product teams, and play a key role in building out the Google One Finance team.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in delivering business performance updates to executive leadership teams, and performing analysis to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Help executives understand the financial implications of their strategies, enable new product and feature launches, and help identify opportunities for sustainable subscriber and business growth.
  • Build networks across Photos, Drive, Gmail, and other cross-products, partner finance teams to enable product launches and drive strategic conversations, and develop analytical frameworks for understanding and improving financial performance.
  • Partner with product leadership and strategy teams to build, evaluate, and execute business plans and growth initiatives.
  • Help drive projects including: multi-year and annual profit-and-loss planning, business growth analysis, unit economics and pricing analysis, influencing growth strategy, third-party distribution agreement modeling, cost and spend optimization.
