The Workplace and Workforce strategy team are the change agents who understand distributed and virtual teams, who are keeping abreast of the evolving talent landscape, and who are influencing and driving decisions as the company navigates. In this work, we partner closely with a large cross-functional team, including HR, Communications, Technology, Workplace, Customer Success, Sales, Finance, and Product, among others. This is a high visibility effort within the company with sponsorship from C-level leaders in the company. The team is embracing a learning mindset, running experiments, and literally implementing meaningful change across Intuit's global footprint. The team is led by the Vice President of Workforce and Workplace Strategy, who reports to the Chief People and Places Officer. The Principal Experience and Experiment Designer role will report directly to this Vice President. What you'll bring 5+ years of work experience with a design-consultancy / human-centric design firm, or in a company's innovation accelerator, driving customer or employee-facing experiments, or as a design researcher / strategist 8-10+ years of total work experience either in a consultative role or within a large or high-growth company Deep understanding and experience with customer-driven innovation (CDI) and Design-for-Delight (Intuit's design-thinking approach) methodologies, or similar external equivalents Prior experience in customer empathy, and experimentation and innovation required Design thinking is in your DNA; Creative problem solving, and deep customer (employee) empathy come naturally to you Well-rounded interpersonal skill set and ability to influence others Strong communications (written/verbal) and proven facilitation skills; experience and passion for galvanizing large organizations/teams around insights, themes or POV Highly self-motivated and willing to proactively push for a "better way"; expansive thinker who can see new possibilities that should be tested Constant strive for excellence and belief in the art of the possible; thrive in ambiguity and quickly adapt in a world where things are fluid How you will lead We are seeking an experienced Principal Experience and Experiment Designer to join our team. This role will play a critical role working closely with stakeholders throughout the Workforce and Workplace of the Future team. Part innovator, part influencer, and part-doer - this role is all about gaining customer (employee) empathy, designing, and executing the testing and experimentation agenda that will shape the way our employees work and our physical workplace. These experiments are the primary means to learn how we will retool our sites, technologies, and ways of working to meet the needs of our hybrid workforce. Expertise in designing and learning from effective experiments will be critical. The role will work closely with our Workplace team and teams from a range of functions (e.g., Technology, Customer Success, Sales, and Accelerating Functions) who are executing our learning agenda. The deliverables from these experiments are a set of learnings, best practices, and repeatable processes teams can use to iterate their approach. We'll measure the success of this innovation agenda through both productivity, sense of belonging, team well-being, and employee engagement (among other measures). This role will bring the expertise in measuring customer benefit delivery and should be prepared to define measures of success above and beyond those listed above. In addition the learnings will shape the proposal and investment case for how our physical space will evolve to support the needs of our hybrid workforce. It is essential that the person in this role be able to establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect with stakeholders across the company, and be able to work collaboratively with others in a results-oriented manner. This individual needs to be pragmatic but also bold in their thinking and approach to designing and delivering tests that inform our workplace strategy. This role will work very closely with the strategists on our team, taking a lead role on experimenting and rapid prototyping. While the role is centered on experimentation, this person will also have a seat at the table to shape the overall Workforce and Workplace of the Future strategy. A customer problem-back and customer benefit orientation are critical to success in this role, as is the ability to think big-picture. The strategists on our team are composed of humble team-players, who exercise a range of classical strategy disciplines: analytical thinking, external benchmarking, narrative creation, framing, influencing, change management, and competitive intelligence among others. The Principal Experience and Experiment Designer will complement these skills with their knowledge of design thinking, their experience ideating the possible, and their passion for proof through experiments. Together, we will design and deliver the future of work for Intuit. Specific responsibilities include: Developing an understanding of and staying current on changes and innovations to the workplace before and beyond the pandemic Designing and structuring experiments jointly with functional Learning and Experiment teams Gaining a deep understanding of customer (employee) problems in how we work and defining how our workplace could be designed to their benefit Working closely with cross-functional teams across Intuit to pilot, test, learn, and ultimately implement recommendations company-wide Working closely with our IT and workplace teams to ideate worker personas, identify technology / tools requirements, and shape the learning and testing agenda for our physical Workplace and technology portfolio so it meets (or exceeds) the needs of our hybrid workforce Assessing test results and iterating on testing based on qualitative and quantitative data gathered through testing Building relationships across Intuit sites to understand and influence the learning agenda on a global basis Packaging and synthesizing key learnings for a range of audiences Working closely with the Brand Experience and Storytelling team to shape the change narrative and infuse learnings from test and experiment efforts Hear from our employees Senior Data Scientist - Machine Learning Futures Group Conrad leverages tools like natural language processing and machine learning to help tax analysts and small business owners use TurboTax and QuickBooks more efficiently.
