financial services area, including FCRA, state lending and payments
laws, TILA, and have experience advising on advertising and
- At least 10+ years of experience primarily advising technology
- Significant breadth of knowledge in as many of the following
areas as possible: data privacy and protection, IP, mobile and
cloud computing, competition law, and technology licensing
- Comfortable and adept at balancing uncertainty and opportunity,
and thinking creatively to enable the business to make smart
- Ability to produce clear and succinct written legal analysis
and business communications, and counsel and manage clients,
including senior management
- Experience navigating deep technical partnerships
- Experience providing legal support on a global scale
- Excellent teaching and training skills
- Excellent driver and project manager
- Experience in-house preferred
- JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State
How you will lead
You will provide legal advice and counseling on a wide variety
of cutting edge matters, including data privacy and protection,
AI/ML, product liability, intellectual property and regulatory
compliance. Many of these matters will be in the Fintech area,
including payments and lending.
Working as a member of the Transactions and Marketing Team, you
will be responsible for collaborating with multiple innovative
teams around the world to power prosperity for consumers and small
business. You will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and
advising upon various U.S. and global commercial transactions,
including in-bound and out-bound data licenses, SaaS, marketing,
sales and other commercial contracts with minimal direction and
supervision. You have a strong desire to learn, a can do attitude
and the willingness to work on a very large variety of work. You
understand the technical and business ramifications of the
transactions we work on and also how to help the business
intelligently manage uncertainty.
This position also supports marketing activities. You have a
working knowledge of advertising and consumer protection laws and
the desire to learn specific areas of marketing law (such as
CANSPAM and TCPA compliance). You will work closely with the
business on matters including online social marketing, claims
substantiation, comparative claims and the structuring and
interpretation of survey results.
Central to our groups support model is constant effort to
increase scalability / efficiency. You will be comfortable thinking
outside the box and will be drive efforts to improve our day-to-day
processes, tools and support models.
