A state of the art San Francisco Bay Area Medical Center is seeking an Infection--Preventionist--to join their world class healthcare organization. Utilizing epidemiological methods, the Infection Prevention Nurse will report directly to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety and will collaborate with 3 additional infection--preventionists--.The Infection Control Practitioner will collaborate with a team of nursing directors, overseeing this Non-Profit Medical Center, which has been serving the community for over 80 years. The Infection--Preventionist--RN will coordinate infection surveillance, education, administrative, and control measures to assure that the transmission risks and complications of infections and infectious diseases are minimized to medical center clients, personnel, and visitors.In this role, the Infection Control Practitioner will be required to manage and maintain responsibilities including statistician, educator, consultant, improvement coordinator, and evaluator of practice. The Infection Prevention Practitioner will be conversant with the infection hazards of all patient care services in order to be able to recommend and evaluate the effect of prevention strategies.With the emphasis on improvement and publicly reported data the Infection Control Practitioner will possess a heightened ability to provide statistical analysis of data, be knowledgeable regarding--NHSN--data management and evaluate and implement prevention strategies. The Infection Control Practitioner and Control must hold a California Nursing License.
