Job Description:
Job Description Job Description We are looking for a
warehouse/Delivery Driver to pick up and deliver orders to local
customers, using the Company's delivery truck, in order to meet
productivity demands. This position is also responsible for
material that moves through the shipping and receiving department,
maintaining a clean and organized warehouse conducting inventory
cycle counts and seed intake. Cross-training in areas such as
packaging and making of materials, supports the overall efficiency
efforts of the business. Schedule: Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM-4:30PM
4 Days a week 10Hrs each day Long term/Short term Friday are
flexible if needed. Primary Responsibilities: · Make deliveries and
pickups for company and client in a safe and professional manner ·
Unload raw material and customer packing materials and place in
their proper locations · Define, develop and improve shipping and
receiving SOP’s; cross train Operations team on SOP’s · Work
closely with Customer Service to prioritize orders to ship and
deliver, ensuring that the orders are delivered on time in full and
without errors · Work within Production Management System (PMS) to
create & complete dispatch documentation · Assist with delivering a
weekly inventory of completed customer orders that are at the
Company Gilroy Facility · Keep Customer Service apprised of any
pending issues regarding the planned shipment of orders · Maintain
the stock of receiving labels, and general supplies in a neat and
organized manner · Check germination dates before shipping; apply
updated germination stickers as necessary · Final check of all
labelling and packaging information before shipping · Execute the
production plan for area of responsibility; safely and efficiently
consolidate orders for shipment and delivery meeting the shipping
schedule in full · Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with
UPS, FedEx, and LTL Shippers · Responsible for keeping the truck
log up to date with each day’s deliveries and customer pickups;
complete daily vehicle inspection; report any vehicle maintenance
needs immediately · Responsible for keeping the Shipping and
Receiving log up to date with documentation of all shipments and
deliveries; match incoming shipment packing slips to purchase
orders and distribute to the proper department or individual for
sign off; deliver completed paperwork to finance · Conduct period
end inventory cycle counts · Assist in packaging or where need as
instructed by manager or supervisor · Make various materials used
in processing to keep stock levels such that the coating and
pelleting department always has adequate supply To be cross trained
in seed intake which includes receiving incoming seed, weighing and
logging seed, raising questions or concerns regarding seed
specifications, data entry, completion of paperwork amongst other
tasks; able to follow precise instructions and do work with
accuracy General: · Complete administrative paperwork as required
for company reporting procedures · Report incidents that may impact
safety, product quality or adherence to schedule · Dispose of all
waste streams appropriately in line with the company’s
Environmental Policy · Additional work identified as necessary for
the operation of the business Educational Qualifications: Requires
High School /GED Job Training / Experience: · 2-3 years hands-on
experience with shipping/receiving processes · 1 year of delivery
driving experience in an 18’-20’ box truck or larger · Forklift
certified or ability to be certified within 90 days of hire · Valid
CA driver’s license; clean DMV record Skills/Abilities: ·
Proficient in Excel · Proficient in Word · Proficient in Outlook;
web-based applications such as UPS, Fed-Ex · Ability to communicate
effectively with all members of the team Physical Requirements: ·
Able to stand for long periods of time in very hot, cold, dusty and
noisy conditions · Able to lift 50 lbs frequently · Able to climb
stairs, and ladders as necessary to access equipment · Able to
handle & respond to loud alarms, flashing lights caused by
equipment failures · Able to Push/Pull 50 lbs. frequently · Able to
sit for 4-6 hours per day while driving · Able to lift, bend,
kneel, crouch and stretch frequently · Able to grasp frequently
