Class A CDL Driver – Long-Haul / Touch Freight (Temp-to-Hire) Location: Hayward, CA Pay: Starting at $30.00 per hour Schedule: 4–5 days/week | 10-hour shifts About Us We are a pet food distributor with over 50 years in business , offering stable, long-term career opportunities for professional drivers. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position with onboarding through our local staffing agency and strong potential for permanent hire. Pay & Incentives Starting pay: $30.00/hour (Hayward location) Overtime paid in accordance with California law Quarterly safety and attendance bonuses (must meet company hiring standards) Paid overnight lodging and meals for layover routes Schedule Start times between 2:00 AM – 6:00 AM 10-hour shifts 4–5 days per week Overtime available Must be available for overnight runs , including: Reno–Tahoe (Friday–Saturday) Eureka (Thursday–Friday) Job Duties Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer equipment on long-haul and regional routes Touch freight on approximately 80% of deliveries Use electric pallet jacks (EPJ) for unloading Complete scheduled overnight and layover runs Maintain accurate logs, trip sheets, and delivery documentation Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and warehouse teams Requirements Valid Class A CDL Minimum 1 year of full-time, verifiable in-town Class A semi delivery experience Interstate qualified (NI from DMV) with a clean driving record EPJ experience required; chain experience a plus Ability to perform physically demanding work (touch freight) Must be well-groomed and professional (no face or neck tattoos) Must live within 30 minutes of Hayward, CA and have reliable transportation Must be able to pass: Drug screening Background check Personality assessment FMCSA Clearinghouse clearance Must be available to start immediately Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Job Type Full-Time Temp-to-Hire Long-Term Opportunity
