Partnerships Program ("CPP") works with frontline communities
disproportionately burdened by pollution and environmental harms to
challenge the environmental and social status quo. CPP is seeking a
One-Year Project Attorney for additional support as the team
anticipates a very active docket and as a team member transitions
back from leave. The Project Attorney will primarily support the
Los Angeles-based CPP team but may also support CPP staff in New
York and Washington, D.C.This is a full-time role (37.5
hours/week). The successful candidate will start ASAP and work for
12 months. This is a hybrid position based out of our Los Angeles,
CA office.Responsibilities:Litigation (70%)
- Conduct legal and factual research.
- Prepare memoranda on issues related to ongoing or potential new
cases.
- Draft legal and factual documents in support of litigation and
advocacy.
- Participate in state administrative and court proceedings.
- Develop case and legal advocacy case strategies, in partnership
with clients, technical experts, and other attorneys.Coalition
Support (30%)
- Actively participate in relationships with CPP clients,
partners, and coalitions.
- Manage the administration of coalition meetings by calendaring
meetings, taking notes, sharing out action items, and other
duties.Qualifications:
- Law school graduate and admitted into the CA state bar.
- 4-5 years of litigation experience.
- Experience within the public interest/service space, a
plus.
- Background in science, public health, public policy, or related
fields, a plus.
- Experience working with community leaders and/or
community-based organizations, a plus.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong sense of judgement, discernment, and sensitivity.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed for work, including
court appearances, community meetings, and overnight travel.
- Demonstrate an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and
concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and
orientations.Compensation:We offer a competitive salary and

environment.Salaries at Earthjustice are determined by experience
level and working location. The salary range for this role based
out of Los Angeles, CA is: $120,600 - $125,300.To Apply:Interested
