Job Description:
At Walmart Inc., as a Principal Software Engineer for Android,
you will spearhead the development and innovation of our Android
mobile applications, playing a crucial role in enhancing the
shopping experience for millions globally. As part of our dynamic
IT department, you will lead a team of skilled engineers, drawing
on deep technical expertise and a visionary approach to push the
boundaries of what's possible in mobile retail solutions. Your work
will directly contribute to our mission of helping people save
money so they can live better by providing users with a seamless,
intuitive, and engaging digital experience on their Android
devices. Lead the architecture and front-end design of innovative
Android applications. Manage full software development life cycles,
from concept to launch and support. Mentor and guide the growth of
fellow software engineers. Stay ahead of new technologies and
techniques in mobile development and recommend adaptations of such
in our projects. Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI
designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that applications are
not just functional but visually appealing and engaging. Ensure
robustness, performance, and security of the applications
developed. Drive continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
practices within the team. Expert proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
Strong experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and other
relevant tools. Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and offline
storage. Experienced with continuous integration, unit testing, and
automated testing frameworks. Skilled in user interface design and
dealing with various screen sizes. Proficiency in version control
tools and agile methodologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and
ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 401k
