OverviewCome join the Intuit Small Business and Self Employed Groups Developers & Partners team as the Manager for Developer Relations. To fulfill Intuits mission of enabling prosperity for small businesses, self-employed, and consumers around the world, our role is to work with 3rd party Developers and Partners of all sizes to create integrated solutions to enable customers to connect their data and automate work. Our team is responsible for all aspects of the Developers and Partners experience, including the tools, APIs, Developer portal, as well as the way customers find and connect to apps. Our team promotes standards and good development practices by actively engaging with partners and developer communities, raising awareness of the company's developer-centric activities, and guiding and educating developers.We are actively seeking a Developer Relationship Manager to be part of the Developers and Partners teams to recruit, inspire, and enable developers to solve big and complex problems for small businesses by building app integrations with the QuickBooks platform. This position requires a blend of strong technical skills coupled with content development, presentation, and customer-facing skills. This individual will have a passion for technology and sharing it with other inventors, creators, and app developers both inside and outside the company.In this role, you will interact with the most innovative engineers inside and outside of Intuit every day. You will write code samples, present demos, articles, and tutorials to promote and highlight a wide range of technology stacks, and relevant, contemporary software development techniques and trends. You will represent Intuit at conferences, events, hackathons, and with the technical press and bloggers. You will advocate internally for the developer community's needs, working with Intuits product and engineering/AI research teams to influence features and technology strategy to build a thriving 3rd party ecosystem for Intuit. What you'll bringThe Developer Relations Manager is a software developer with a passion for technology and an interest in using technology to solve big problems, who loves to interact and speak with other developers. To be successful in this role, you need:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You have created and delivered engaging technical presentations and are comfortable with (and enjoy) public speaking.
  • Attract, develop and grow top talent and enable employees to do the best work of their lives.
  • Proven history of creating impactful technical content for blogs, forums, social channels, etc. The desired candidate will be able to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to different audiences.
  • Able to demonstrate solid knowledge of XML (experience using server-to-server web services such as SOAP or REST preferred).
  • Able to demonstrate solid programming abilities in one or more of the following languages: Java, .NET, PHP, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and partner with other functional teams and in International markets to achieve common goals. In Addition:Preferred Requirements:
    • Well connected within the developer community with contacts across various 3rd party partners
    • Able to work irregular hours and some weekends to support hackathons, conferences, user groups, and other developer events.Education and experience:
      • BA/BS in Computer Science or a similar technical degree preferred.
      • 5 years or more of work experience that supports the goals and requirements of this role.How you will leadThis diverse role includes a variety of responsibilities, all focused on growing the Intuit developer community and the QuickBooks app ecosystem. In this role you will:Strategy & Leadership
        • Lead the development of 3 & 1 year strategic vision and clear, measurable goals for developer relations in collaboration with product teams and cross-functional leads across the business
        • Understand developer needs from research and developer insights to drive the developer relations strategy
        • Take a data-driven approach in defining developer relations success metrics and prioritizing work so that progress can be clearly measured and communicated to stakeholders
        • Collaborate closely with marketing to establish a bottoms up go-to-market motion to win developer mindshare & position Intuit as a tech-forward company that developers aspire to work with
        • Advocate for the needs of developers through leadership, support, training and engagement of internal stakeholders
        • Grow and lead an effective developer relations team to execute the strategyEducation & Advocacy
          • Author developer-focused content in collaboration with marketing which can include but is not limited to technical blogs, white papers, videos and podcasts.
          • Educate developers about products through webinars, tutorials, and how to guide among other approaches.
          • Orchestrate the company presence at events, including speaking, sponsoring and exhibiting at both large conferences and smaller scale events.Community
            • Engage with and activate the developer community across GitHub, Twitter, Stack Overflow and other relevant channels
            • Be an advocate for our developers by surfacing feedback and insights to appropriate teams
            • Demonstrate a customer centric approach by being a champion for the developer experience and deep developer empathy
            • Constantly engage with the Developer community to provide proof points that demonstrate Intuits commitment to this space.
            • Lead the Developer Council and lead the agenda / facilitate the sessionsDeveloper Experience
              • Developer Segmentation, and tiering to align frameworks for developers and partners.
              • Identify and drive developer experience initiatives, covering Open API standards, documentation, sample code, SDKS and tools
              • Initiate a strategy to build developer experiences that can grow in a sustainable manner and accommodate technical changes to the platform.
              • Establish standards to engage the developer community around open source developer tools
              • Support the Intuit developer community wherever they are -- on forums, on social media, at conferences, meetups, hackathons, etc.EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability.
