the RoleWe are looking for talented software engineers with
experience in commercial and/or defense-related aerospace fields.
In this role, you will be helping to develop the future of
simulation and infrastructure software for aerial autonomy
programs. Your work in design, coding, integration, and
certification will draw on your full suite of aerospace and
software experience. At Applied, we encourage all engineers to take
ownership over technical and product decisions by closely
interacting with users to collect feedback. You will directly
support customers in the aerospace industry to develop the next
generation of autonomous aerospace systems.At Applied, you
will:Lead the design and development of aerial simulation and
infrastructure products that enable our customers to develop
aircraft systems for aerial autonomy, obstacle avoidance, pilot
behavior analytics and training, and other use cases..Work closely
with Applied's customers in the civil and defense aerospace
industries to understand their requirements and improve the product
to meet their needs.Integrate customer autonomous aircraft systems
with Applied's tools for development and verification and
validation (V) workflows.We're looking for someone who:Has 4+ years
of experience in the aerospace industryHas extensive knowledge in
one or more topics spanning aerospace systems, avionics,
aerodynamics, and aircraft safety and certificationFluent in C++
and / or PythonNice to have:Experience designing or working with
aircraft dynamics models in Simulink, FlightLab, X-Plane, or other
aerospace simulation toolsExperience developing real-time
hardware-in-the-loop solutions for avionics simulation or
validationExperience delivering DO-178C-compliant artifacts along
with associated requirements and design documentationExperience
certifying civil aircraft and/or avionics - including hardware
(DO-254), system certification (ARP4754), and SOI audits (#1
through #4)Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security
Clearance
