PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in San Francisco, California, 94158! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia
Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8
hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PACU or critical care
License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: Basic
Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric
Advanced Life Support (PALS) Must-Have: - Knowledge of airway
management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management - Ability to
work in preoperative and extended care settings - Ability to float
to other departments as needed Description: The position requires
expertise in inpatient care within the PACU. Candidates should have
skills in arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition and
management, and blood product administration. Experience with
central line care and management is essential, along with
familiarity with IV vasopressors and narcotics/opioid analgesics.
Knowledge of reversal agents and management of external ventricular
drains (EVD) is required. Candidates should be skilled in ICP
monitoring and care of ventilated patients. Conscious sedation and
post-epidural management experience are also necessary. Familiarity
with various anesthesia techniques, including general, local,
monitored anesthesia care (MAC), and nerve blocks, is highly
preferred. Candidates should be knowledgeable in managing malignant
hyperthermia protocol and conducting pain assessments and
management. Experience in PCA pump management and understanding the
Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale (RASS) is essential. Prior
experience in diverse surgical specialties, including bariatrics,
ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neurology, ophthalmology,
orthopedics, and vascular surgery, is preferred. 5 Benefits of
