2010.Role OverviewAt ID.me, the Sr UX Director for Wallet,
Identity, and Communities is a pivotal leadership role overseeing
the strategic vision and execution of UX design across these
critical segments. You will lead, inspire, and motivate a large
team of UX professionals, driving innovative solutions that meet
business goals and enhance user experience. Your extensive
experience in user-centered design will be crucial in developing
intuitive, secure, and engaging interfaces that cater to a diverse
range of users.This role involves steering the UX direction for
three interconnected areas:
- Wallet: Enhancing the ID.me Wallet to be a secure,
user-friendly place where people can control their digital
identity, store credentials, and oversee their data.
- Identity: Ensuring the highest levels of assurance in identity
verification services, to provide secure access to critical
services like the IRS and SSA.
- Communities: Expanding and refining the verification services
for various communities (e.g., military, nurses, students) to
ensure that benefits and discounts are delivered accurately and
securely.As the Sr UX Director, you will ensure that these
platforms are not only functionally robust but also deliver
exceptional user experiences that promote trust and engagement.
Your role will be to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration,
and user empathy, further solidifying ID.me the leader in digital
identity solutions.Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a large team of UX Designers across the
Wallet, Identity, and Communities teams, setting strategic
directions and executing high-level design initiatives.
- Develop a unified UX vision for the Wallet, Identity, and
Communities segments, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user
experience across these platforms.
- Drive innovative UX strategies and solutions, focusing on user
needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility to enhance
the ID.me ecosystem.
- Create a nurturing, positive, and inclusive work environment
that fosters collaboration, innovation, and constructive feedback
across the UX team.
- Inspire, motivate, and lead the UX team to develop solutions
that are highly regarded by users and stakeholders, setting new
benchmarks for design excellence.
- Evangelize and advocate for user-centered design methodologies,
fostering a culture of collaboration and connecting disciplines
across the organization.
- Communicate effectively about technical constraints,
experimentation, product, brand, business, and strategy, ensuring
that design is a key component of all product development
efforts.
- Lead the development and refinement of UX design guidelines and
best practices, ensuring consistency and high standards across all
design projects.
- Engage in strategic planning and decision-making, working with
executive leadership to align design strategies with overall
business objectives.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and professional development
of UX talent, building a strong, diverse team capable of tackling a
wide range of design challenges.
- Collaborate with other department heads and stakeholders to
ensure that design strategies are integrated into product
development, marketing, and other areas.
- Monitor and analyze user research and market trends, using this
information to guide design strategies and ensure that products
meet user needs and expectations.
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity in all design
projects, ensuring that products are usable by as wide an audience
as possible.Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in the design industry, with a focus on
UX/interaction design, visual design, and research, including
extensive experience leading large UX teams and projects.
- 6+ years of experience managing and leading UX teams, with a
demonstrated ability to mentor and develop design talent at all
levels.
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in design, UX/UI design,
human-computer interaction, or a related field, with a strong
educational background in design principles and methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the
ability to inspire and motivate large teams and drive strategic
initiatives at the highest levels.
- Extensive experience in user research, design thinking, and
leading innovative design efforts that have significantly impacted
user experience and business outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead and direct cross-functional teams,
fostering collaboration and ensuring that design considerations are
integrated into all product decisions.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the
ability to lead complex design initiatives and make high-stakes
decisions that impact the overall direction of the product
portfolio.
- Experience designing with accessibility and inclusivity in
mind, with a commitment to creating products that are usable by
everyone.
- A track record of balancing user needs with business
objectives, ensuring that design solutions are both innovative and
practical.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage
multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, delivering
high-quality design solutions on time and within budget.
- A deep understanding of the latest design tools and
technologies, with the ability to integrate new tools into the
design process effectively.

designing for community-oriented platforms and services, with the
ability to understand and cater to the unique needs and preferences
of diverse user groups.
- Strategic Vision for User-Centric Services: Ability to envision
and strategize how user-centric services can evolve, particularly
focusing on expanding the communities and enhancing the digital
wallet experience.
- Strong Empathy for User Challenges: Exceptional empathy for
users, with the ability to translate user needs and pain points
into innovative design solutions that enhance user satisfaction and
engagement.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Proven track record
of successful collaboration with product, engineering, marketing,
and data teams to create integrated and coherent user
experiences.
- Leadership in Driving Major UX Initiatives: Experience leading
