We look to innovative diagnostics which can shape the future of healthcare and change lives.As a System Engineering Leader at Roche Sequencing Solutions, you will be instrumental in developing our Next Generation Sequencing System. In this dynamic role, you will be leading the teams that design, integrate and develop our highly automated sequencing system. Your expertise will play a critical role in shaping the future landscape of genetic diagnostics by contributing to the successful launch of our novel Single Molecule Sequencing System.Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for integrating the activities of a multi-disciplined technical team, as well as oversee project timelines and budgets.
• You will direct product development activities, providing strategic, technical direction and leadership in defining and achieving development objectives.
• You will be working with multiple sites to harness the technical expertise across the Roche network.Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in System Engineering, Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field. Ph.D. preferred. 8-10 years experience in product Development required
  • Prefer 10 - 15 years experience in product development with 5 to 8 years management experience.
  • Proven experience developing complex systems and a track record of successfully launching commercial genetic analysis systems
  • Proven technical and managerial leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates successful problem solving and coordination of project related activities.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Sustained track record of significant contributions to development programs, and a thorough understanding of the overall goals of the business units/company.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Santa Clara, CA is $214,200 and $254,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
