We're currently seeking a Vice President, Operations to oversee the organization's ongoing diverse operations functions. As a key member of the senior management team, the VP, Operations reports directly to the President and establishes policies that promote company culture and vision through its operations and set a strategic vision to drive profitability, produce high-quality products and meet its production goals to support growth. By setting clear goals for Operations and growth, the VP, Operations drives a continuous improvement culture, builds team engagement, and fosters strong followership. This role is a high-visibility position, requiring excellent communication skills and the responsibility of being called upon to positively represent the organization in the community and in the media. The VP, Operations must maintain the highest level of integrity and lead by example in all areas. This role is located in Torrance, CA the second largest suburb of Los Angeles county. Torrance is nestled along the beautiful Santa Monica Bay and just a 19 minutes drive to Los Angeles International Airport. Duties and Responsibilities:+ Supervises managers to ensure that production goals are met. Goals may include but are not limited to efficiency, indirect hours, MRDRs and scrap rate.+ Develops strategic planning for manufacturing and operations, including CPI and Kaizen responsibility.+ Leads supply chain organization to drive purchase price variance and other key strategic sourcing initiatives.+ Directs and coordinates activities of Operations for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectives.+ Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives.+ Ensures that employees are trained on safety, company policies and procedures, hazardous waste, MSDS, and ISO9000 requirements.+ Manages all facilities including Phenova and Inventex.+ Takes disciplinary action when needed and promote a positive workplace.+ Ensures Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance.+ Teams with Research & Development in the transition of new products to manufacturing.+ Maintains budget and costs, including all fiscal responsibility.+ Measures effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes both internally and externally and finds ways to improve processes+ Collaborate with our President on three- and five-year plans for company growth and evolution+ Assist the CFO with financial projections and analyses of existing programs and policies using best manufacturing processes and programs+ Supports and implements growth strategies+ Acts as a liaison between company and client for quality assurance+ Provides mentoring to all employees, including management+ Motivates staff to meet or surpass organizational goals and objectives+ Coordinates with human resources department to recruit skilled talent and keep the best employees+ Oversees daily operations and adjusts as necessary+ Collaborates with L1 on new ideas and strategies+ Manages optimization of Supply Chain and Logistics processes to support company Growth and execution goals+ Promotes communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:+ Undergraduate degree in business or science discipline and advanced degree preferred+ 10+ years' experience in operations and management+ Proven experience as Senior Operations Leader or a similar relevant role+ Demonstrable competency in planning and operation processes inclusive of Supply Chain, Cost Management and Logistics+ Understanding of data analysis and performance/operation metrics+ Advanced organizational leadership skills and change management capabilities+ Chemical Engineering background a significant plusKey Skills and Attributes:+ Strong leadership skills characterized by a high degree of humility and ability to work at multiple levels of the organization to drive results;+ Ability to drive change by engaging others and getting buy-in through influence to achieve goals;+ Exceptional team building through common objectives and purpose; a strong team leader who inspires and motivates his/her reports and colleagues to achieve superior results;+ A highly analytical thinker who is process-oriented and has a strong continuous improvement mindset;+ Clear and disciplined communication skills.WHAT WE OFFER+ Holidays - Twelve paid holidays each year+ Paid Time Off - Three weeks each year (increases by one day years 2 thru 9)+ Paid Parental Leave+ Health Care Flexible Spending Account+ Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account+ Pet Insurance+ Employee Assistance Program (EAP)+ Associate Discounts+ Legal Assistance Plan+ Anniversary Bonus+ First Time Home Buyer Plan+ Employee Development (Tuition Reimbursement) GET MORE INSIGHT+ Learn more about what we do and who we are by watching our company video "Phenomenex: Our Science" you join us, you'll also be joining Danaher's global organization, where 80,000 people wake up every day determined to help our customers win.
