Role and ResponsibilitiesIBM Watson Orders is looking for a QA
Manager to support the quality and testing of edge artificial
intelligence (AI) product. This QA role presents the opportunity to
work at the intersection of audio hardware, deep learning, and
in-store edge infrastructure while collaborating with a dynamic
team and helping enable one of the largest deployments of
brick-and-mortar AI technology.Ideal candidate will be capable of
tracking multiple dimensions of testing, from hardware to software
related, while identifying confounding issues and corner cases.
Candidates should also feel comfortable testing with real world
conditions and real hardware, while also working to increase
automation to scale. Experience and excitement for evangelizing a
culture of testing and growing a team is also important.You
willManage the QA team & QA activities, including planning,
prioritization, estimating, performance reviewing, goal setting,
and team coaching. Act both as a people manager and as a technical
manager.Contribute QA perspective, while incorporating them with
business needs and constraints understanding, to organizational
decisions, be able to call out risks, insist on issues that need
insisting on, say 'no' when needed (but not when not needed), push
for 'yes' when possible, align with decisions and aim to serve
wider goals.Plan, acquire, and deploy testing environments and
tools.Lead the effort to increase automated Python testing, stress
and performance testingSupport manual testing.Hire and support
growth and retention.Lead creation and review of detailed and
comprehensive test plans and test casesEffectively & efficiently
collaborate with other teams and resources, to receive/provide
dependencies, escalate, etc., including with a customer's remote
UAT team.Manually review logs and external test results to
determine root causes and suggest courses of action to improve the
productTrack performance metrics and evaluate regressionsProvide
structured and rigorous feedback to the R&D and management
teamStrive to improve QA activity, as well as quality in the wider
sense of the product, processes & organization.Continuously game
ways to improve testing and probing; finding new ways to reliably
break the application and developing tests to probe those

years of Software Testing experience (writing and executing
tests)3+ years of QA management experience, leading a team of at
least 3 engineers and planning resource needs and allocation (human
resources and non-human resources)At least 3 years of test
automation experiencePython coding experienceExperience with CI/CD
frameworksExperience working in a dynamic, and ever-changing
environmentPreferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseExperience
/ knowledge in (computational) linguistics is a plusFamiliarity
with machine learning evaluation metrics is a plusAbility to drive
technical issues to resolution & RCA, working with operational &
technical teams.Knowledge of hardware, networking, Linux,
deployment practices, testing of distributed products, and API,
front end, UX, and back-end testing.Demonstrated written, verbal
communication skillsBS/MS in Computer Science / Engineering or
