Minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience * 5 years of experience with software development in C++ or JavaScript * 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role * Experience applying accessible design principles and web accessibility standards Preferred qualifications: * Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field * 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization * Experience working with or developing web standards such as W3C, IEEE, and/or WhatWG * Collaborative working style and ability to manage projects with cross-functional teams About the job As an Engineering Manager working on the Chrome Accessibility team, you will help make Chrome and Chromebooks universally accessible and useful. Without the things we build, some users wouldn't be able to use Chrome or a Chrome OS device at all. We're focused on opening new possibilities for these users and making new experiences possible for them. Going beyond just enabling people to use our products and services, we want to find new ways to become a companion in people's lives. You will work on projects that will have a crucial impact on these users as you take on hard technical problems and coordinate with many teams at Google to find solutions that make Chrome and Chrome OS an amazing platform for everyone. Responsibilities * Improve the web platform with tools and APIs to help developers make their web apps accessible to everyone. * Work on Chrome browser features to improve the experience for users with disabilities, including those who rely on third-party assistive technology. * Drive accessibility standards inside and outside of Google and work with other accessibility leads at Google to define our strategy. * Help define team vision and goals. * Teach developers accessibility architecture.
