Director of Project Management Job_Description_Summary The Project Management Director is accountable for the delivery of the Project Management Program for our highly dynamic, innovation-driven client account. Responsibilities include guiding the overall program, supporting development and execution of the client s annual capital plan, directing the strategic plan for growth with a focus on delivery excellence. Ongoing responsibilities include defining immediate and long-term program goals related to resourcing, budgets, schedules, quality, compliance and empowering the organization to support clients future needs. This position is a key member of the account leadership and is responsible for developing and maintaining a strong partnership with the client organization; and developing a robust project delivery organization that can adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position ensures that all Project Management deliverables are executed within a governance structure designed to exceed client quality of service expectations, enforce contractual compliance and meet or exceed SLA and KPI requirements. This position will partner closely with the Facilities Regional Managers and the Space and Move Management Director to achieve account-level strategic objectives in a client-focused manner. Demonstrate a strong business acumen for program and project management with an understanding of the importance of delivering services in an integrated manner to maximize outcomes for client stakeholders. Job_Description RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead the overall Project Management Program for the account * Partner with the client in a consultative manner to shape delivery of services to support current and future client portfolio requirements * Direct the overall planning and execution of current and future capital plans in excess of $100M in annual value * Lead and Mentor senior project management team leads to support their strategic and operational objectives and personal development * Oversee a team of project management professionals executing a project portfolio ranging from high-frequency, short-term MAC and remodel projects to highly complex technical lab and infrastructure projects * Work closely with the account leadership team and other service line leaders to manage resource requirements and ensure alignment with forecasted client requirements * Implement and manage protocols to ensure client stakeholders are properly identified and communicated with in a consistent and regular manner * Prepare executive level presentations and reports illustrating background, conclusions, recommendations and risks/benefits * Conduct meetings to inform, consult, request action and seek approval with account leadership and client executive team * Prepare operational presentations and reports illustrating pipeline, progress, challenges, opportunities and recommendations. Conduct meetings with clients, project team members and cross-functional account members to inform, consult, request action and seek approval with internal and client stakeholders * Participate in structuring and administering procurement processes related to project management services to ensure compliance with client requirements, development of a vendor pool (ex. professional services firms and general contractors) with the requisite expertise and in a quantity sufficient to support current and future project needs * Support evaluation of existing and proposed project sites and facilities with respect to program requirements. Ensure the resolution of programming issues through project completion. Conduct meetings with owners and project team members to resolve project issues during the project design development stage * Advise the client and other members of the project team as a Subject Matter Expert with respect to base building and interior project management. Evaluate and critique the progress of design development, budget and schedule from a client point of view recognizing that ba building and interiors issues overlap and are part of an integrated system * Observe corporate policies and procedures. Implement government laws and regulations and adhere to established rulings of government authoritie s * Maintain high qualitative and quantitative standards of work performance * Strive constantly to improve skills and work knowledge; keep up to date in the field of specialization * Cooperate with other personnel to achieve corporate goals and objectives as to quality, service, cost and profit * Report to immediate supervisor(s) major problems and findings and results achieved with recommendations * Provide leadership for recruiting, selection, onboarding and retainment of team members for project management services including training, development, motivation and discipline for subordinates, as necessary, to meet established goals; review and appraise their work performance * Socialize and obtain buy in for organizational changes, team commitments, and expenditures in excess of approved budget and for forecasted growth * Establish goals and objectives with timetables for the organizational unit and sub-units supervised * Delegate to each necessary authority and responsibility for performance of assigned function * Develop, present and maintain headcount budgets, forecasting and gearing ratios Qualifications * B.S. Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Business or a related field required - Masters degree preferred. * Minimum of 10+ years related experience in an engineering/construction project management role or fifteen (15) years equivalent combination of experience in an advisory and/or project management supervisory capacity * Prior experience delivering construction and development projects in a corporate real estate and facility environment - client or service provider side * Experience delivering projects or annual capital programs in excess of $100M desired * Experience negotiating and drafting construction contract including but not limited to Lump Sum, Cost-Plus and GMP * Experience directly managing or overseeing delivery of highly technical lab and infrastructure projects desired * Experience implementing and administering governance structures to ensure proper change management and financial control protocols are maintained * Proven experience and understanding of facility operations, space programming, building systems, base building construction, capital planning, corporate management, urban planning, architecture, interior design, office technology, EH&S and permitting processes required * Understanding of general account principles - Capital and Operating expenses * Proven leadership and development of teams - experience managing teams greater than 20 FTE s highly desired * PMP and LEED Certifications preferred * Superior oral and written communication skills required * Strong proficiency with standard office software and applications. Google Suites preferred * Experience with project management software platforms such as Tririga, Tango, ProCore and PlanGrid is highly desirable * This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
