THE WORK The Lockheed Martin Space NGG team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer with an active Secret clearance to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. We are seeking a Software Engineering Associate Manager to be the Personnel and Technical lead our NGG Common Database (CDB) team under the OPIR portfolio. The role demands deep software expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and external subcontractors. Core responsibilities: • Team Leader Provide strategic guidance on database release, software project management, database configuration management, and continuous integration pipeline. Manage database personnel including HR collaboration. Status program management. Cost Account Management. • Cross Team Coordination Manage database dependencies across program teams to maintain system compatibility. Support program integration in synchronizing release schedules. Chair System Software Change Board to control database and software baselines. • Database Software Champion SW CMMI compliant processes, CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Git, Docker), and automated defect tracking systems. Champion database production processes include those for database validation. Basic Qualifications • Software Development lifecycle (including CDR, TRR, TER, Qual Testing) and Software Process Development (including SW Configuration Management) • Lead roles in Database development, test and validation • CI/CD pipelines • An Active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration. Desired skills Experience • Over 5 years of experience on space systems programs • Lead roles for software or database development and/or test • Lead database validation execution to support launch including RSE coordination Leadership Demonstrated success leading multi disciplinary team and delivering database software solutions and database baseline releases. Configuration & Change Management Proven ability to establish and enforce configuration management processes, defect tracking, and change control boards. Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Security Clearance Information This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
