join our team to Bring the Future! Job Purpose The HDMA SCM LMD
Transportation Group Leader is responsible for leading a team of
associates in the design, analysis, business, and execution of
transportation activities to ensure alignment and implementation of
unit/department business plan strategies to meet overall division
and business unit objectives. This includes the effective
leadership of associates, cross functional collaboration, and
disciplined management of cost, delivery execution, and continuous
improvement initiatives. The Group Leader supports Transportation
Unit Leaders by translating strategic direction into actionable
plans, driving team performance, and contributing to overall
department objectives. Key Accountabilities Team Leadership &
Development - Lead, coach, and develop a team of transportation
associates to achieve individual and group objectives, ensuring
clear expectations, workload balance, and continuous skill
development aligned with departmental goals. Strategy Execution &
Alignment – Lead the execution of transportation department and
unit level freight strategies, key projects, freight budget
requirements, and key performance indicators to ensure consistent
application and alignment with supply chain SQCDM business plan
themes and objectives. Process & System Functional Ownership –
Oversee business requirements and accountability of transportation
processes and systems and manage alignment between business
stakeholders and technical ownership teams. Problem Solving –
Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement
opportunities within transportation activities, applying structured
problem solving methods to drive sustainable improvements in cost,
quality, delivery, and productivity. Support internal
transportation concerns and other HDMA site specific
troubleshooting to minimize overall customer impact. Continuous
Improvement – Engage and improve transportation cost, service, and
delivery performance metrics by monitoring key performance
indicators, identifying gaps, implementing corrective actions /
countermeasure activities, and presenting/escalating as needed.
Cross Functional Collaboration – Engage and partner with various
Honda sites and associates as well as external Carriers, 3PL, and
Suppliers to develop and implement benchmark initiatives, resolve
issues, and drive aligned outcomes. Process & System Functional
Ownership – Oversee business requirements and accountability of
transportation processes and systems and manage alignment between
business stakeholders and technical ownership teams.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management,
Business Management, or related field Minimum Experience: • 8 Years

improvements (PDCA) for Transportation policies and procedures
related to SEQDCM Working Conditions Work overtime approximately
5-10 hours per week. Work in a fast-paced environment with
demanding and critical deadlines. Traveling between Honda Sites
and/or Carriers, 3PL’s, Cross Docks, Suppliers Must be able to work
weekends or into 2nd shift hours to support critical business needs
