Electrician Job Description A facilities maintenance electrician is
responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical
systems within R&D facilities. This includes troubleshooting
electrical issues, installing new wiring or fixtures, performing
routine maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations,
managing maintenance schedules, planning and executing complex
electrical projects, collaborating with other departments, and
providing expertise in troubleshooting intricate electrical issues.
You must be willing to work across all main East Bay and Peninsula
locations. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and dismantle
electrical systems across voltage ranges (120V–480V), adhering to
OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards. Perform Lockout/Tagout
(LOTO) procedures during shutdowns to isolate energy sources and
ensure safe work practices. Troubleshoot and repair electrical
circuits, panels, and related components to minimize downtime.
Install conduit, pull wires, and terminate connections in
compliance with specifications. Conduct preventive maintenance (PM)
on electrical panels and switchgear during scheduled downtimes.
Respond to facility maintenance requests, including emergency and
routine electrical tasks, to support operational efficiency.
Maintain accurate work records, inspect tools/equipment, and follow
safety protocols to ensure a compliant work environment. Essential
Skills Minimum 7 years related work experience as an Industrial or
Facilities electrician. Ability to use hand tools, electrical
meters, and testing equipment. Required: NFPA 70E Certification.
Proven experience with industrial electrical systems and
maintenance tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to
interpret electrical prints and schematics; understanding of Drives
and PLC is a plus. Experience with CMMS software. Familiarity with
Work Order Forms and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management

Research and Development offsite locations in Palo Alto, Fremont,
and Hayward. Individuals will be needed at each facility but will
have a home location. These buildings run 24/7, with schedules
being Monday-Friday. Must be open to working on weekends. Non-union
facility with casual work attire, some uniforms provided for
engineers. Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 PM) open to all days
including weekends. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire
position based out of Palo Alto, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range
for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements
apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification
and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
