My client is the industry leader in self-driving middle-mile logistics. In our fleet of medium-duty vehicles, we transport items safely, rapidly, and efficiently, connecting individuals and communities to the goods they actually need. Every delivery improves the supply chain's reliability, lowers costs, promotes sustainability, and makes highways safer for all road users.Looking for a tech lead for our perception and prediction team, who will be responsible for developing online lidar and imaging detection classification algorithms for static and moving objects in and around the roadway. Their perception and prediction group helps us with multimodal sensor capabilities, dynamic range extension, and integrated perception and prediction. Finally, you will increase our object detection, classification, and tracking in order to better forecast behavioural and intent.You will direct our efforts to establish stronger perception and prediction capabilities from design to production through effective collaboration with our technical disciplines. We're looking for bright people to spearhead the development of perception capabilities for our self-driving cars. A software specialist who has managed a process from R&D to product shipment and has a love for leading projects and producing real-world solutions will be the ideal candidate.Responsibilities

  • Create advanced perception systems that accurately perceive a self-driving vehicle and its environment using imaging and 3D sensors
  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain reliable, safe, and production quality code
  • Design and implement all key components of the perception system such as object detection, object tracking, and multi-sensor fusion
  • Create optimized pipelines for data pre-processing, model training, data post-processing, inference
  • Train perception models, evaluate their performance, investigate and fix performance bottlenecks
  • Develop scalable training and evaluation tools and infrastructure
  • Work with systems, hardware, and other AV software teams to deliver systems that satisfy product requirementsQualifications
    • Experience in motion tracking, semantic segmentation, and object recognition
    • Experience with Docker
    • Experience with multiple sensor modalities used in robotics and AVs
    • Experience developing in a highly-concurrent, multi-processor, and multi-threaded environment
    • Understanding of JIRA and program management tools and processes
    • Experience with distributed computingBonus Points
      • Publications in your field (especially CVPR, CoRL, ICCV, RSS, ICRA)
