wherever it may be.About the roleMuon seeks a multi-talented
Hardware/Electrical Engineer to join our satellite avionics and
sensors development team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated
versatile hardware designer with applied expertise in areas
including robotics, avionics, automotive, industrial applications,
Internet-of-Things, robust consumer devices, or
similar.Responsibilities
- Be part of the team that defines Muon's satellite bus
architecture
- Translate concepts and requirements into robust design
- Design, fabricate, bring up, and support our satellite flight
PCBs, components, systems, and peripherals (MuCore).
- Work on electronic designs encompassing flight computers, power
systems, guidance & navigation, sensors & actuators, and radio
communications.
- Do schematic capture and PCB layout for your own designs
- Collaborate with SW team members on the design and bring up of
MuCore hardware
- Make early hardware prototypes to prove approaches and pay down
risk
- Develop elegantly engineered reusable subsystems for long term
use in multiple configurations and missions.
- Take designs from concept to production, and launch your work
in to spaceQualifications
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechanical
engineering, computer science, or related field
- 3+ years experience as a hardware engineer in a team
environment
- Strong practical experience in two or more of these HW areas:
Digital/microcontroller design, analog design, power and driver
electronics, sensing and measurement, RF design.
- Accomplished at schematic capture and layout using an
electronics design suite (e.g. Altium, Cadence/Orcad, etc)
- Familiarity with microcontroller I/O and communication buses
(UART/SPI/I2C/CAN/Ethernet)
- Integration and control of third-party HW devices
- Collaborated with SW engineers to develop intelligent HW+SW
designs and products
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with new challenges
each weekNice-to-have Skills
- Embedded software programming experience, such as Arduino,
native C/C++ programming, or other environments
- Developed designs for extreme-environment (e.g. vibration,
thermal, vacuum, ESD)
- Process and test automation using scripting languages and
