Their mission is to lead the autonomous middle/last mile delivery industry while expanding their current fleet of trucks to another level alongside their dedicated team of engineers. The role is based in the Bay Area, California. They---re currently hiring for an experience Mechatronics Engineer who can combine mechanical and electronics design and coding and scripting for their prototype team. The ideal candidate will design, test, build and validate the components and subsystems for their product as well as be happy to get involved with the hardware and the vehicle itself to solve problems and develop solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: ? Work with a multidisciplinary team to test and validate concepts on their test bench and in their vehicles. You will also assist with building and modifying possible prototypes. ? Participate in design reviews, DFEMA, HARA and other forms of design review ? Document your work clearly so that colleagues in other location can replicate your designs and successful results With this being such an important role, especially as part of their prototype team, the role does come with minimum requirements including a Bachelors or higher degree in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent with 2 years--- of professional experience. Experience in both producing functioning prototypes and products as well as general experience within the trucking, aerospace, robotics, automotive or automation industry are both important too. More of the basic requirements are as follows: ? An understanding of FMEAs and Risk Assessments and designing to existing standards ? Good design fundamentals based on engineering experience and a background in engineering mathematics and calculations ? An understanding of network protocols and architectures, particularly Ethernet and CAN-bus. ? A good practical understanding of FMEAs and Risk Assessments and designing to existing standards ? Able to create industry-standard CAD drawings for mechanical assemblies and package files for the manufacturing of PCBAs.
