What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual to join our security team to protect our internal and production environments. You will work with other groups to ensure that our systems are secure through proactive assessments and testing. A security background is valued. A strong candidate will set themselves apart with extensive security knowledge of emerging threats and technologies.

We're looking for someone who cares and wants to be involved in our product, mission, and success - way beyond checking off tasks. And of course, at BetterHelp you will enjoy true teamwork and lots of fun!

What will you do?

Be a part of the security team.
Incident Response as a part of Blue Team exercises or actual incidents as part of Security Incident Response Team (SIRT).
Be responsible for the assessment, verification, review, and audit of security/privacy controls and overall security/privacy posture across the organization.
Execute and support assessments, audits, tests, and verification activities for the service areas.
Ensure and validate that security controls are operating effectively.
Review test results or interpret evidence for vulnerabilities, gaps, and control deficiencies and work with business stakeholders to establish plans for sustainable resolution.
Document in detail the results of assessments, audits, tests, and verification activities.
Create and maintain Security Operations Center testing infrastructure, correlation tools, documentation, and training.
Develop situational awareness, stay informed or current technology and vulnerabilities, and contribute to the protection of our internal and user's data.
Understand every phase of an incident and respond appropriately.
Notice suspicious traffic patterns and identify indicators of compromise.
Rapidly shut down any form of compromise.
Identify the red team/threat actors' command and control and block their connectivity to the target.
Undertake analysis and forensic testing on our cloud environment, including use of third-party systems.

What will you NOT do?

You will NOT worry about access to the toolset that you need. We'll do what it takes to enable you to break things.
You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
You will NOT treat this as a "job". We believe in what we do and we are very passionate about it. If you're simply looking for a job to pay the bills, please don't apply.
You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people allowed here!
You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining sustainable work/life balance. Really.
