Responsibilities:

• Review and understand current and proposed product and service offerings to proactively identify compliance issues and prioritize research based on highest impact and business needs
• Research, analyze, and summarize tax issues, regulatory issues, and relevant legislation Synthesize compliance requirements based on statute, regulations, administrative rules and case law to make recommendations on issues of high complexity
• Proactively engage, solicit and incorporate feedback and input from team and stakeholders, resolving issues collaboratively
• Lead with innovative solutions, outline potential viable options, and make definitive recommendations
• Document findings and recommendations so they are easily shared and understood by non-tax partners
• Deliver research findings, options considered and recommendations to product, compliance and legal teams
• Review service guidance, possibly in the form of training, articles and communications to identify necessary updates and deliver requirements
• Coordination and/or prioritization of research activities across team and partners leading to timely project completion
• Represent Tax Standards & Compliance team on compliance issues at cross-functional and inter-disciplinary meetings and reviews
• Follow team best practices to ensure research is standardized and accessible to the team and partners

  • Exceptional statutory and case law research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document research concisely with clear conclusions and recommendations Advanced degree in a tax field or law is preferred; related tax or legal experience considered in substitution
  • Ability to work independently, with all levels, and within a strong team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, often under time pressures.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Able to effectively prioritize individual and team work to ensure delivery of the highest customer value
