Job Description and RequirementsVice President, Revenue OperationsReporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the VP, Revenue Operations will lead the Company's worldwide revenue, order management, credit and collections and distribution operations. The role will serve as a senior member of Chief Accounting Officer's leadership team and will effectively collaborate with cross functional teams e.g., Controllership, Sales, Business Development, Sales Operations, Legal, IT and internal and independent auditors.As the leader of revenue operations, key responsibilities include effectively managing the Order to cash process ensuring accurate reporting of revenues and orders, scaling the entire process with appropriate level of automation and centralization and ensuring that there are effective controls in the process. Responsibility also includes understanding overall business strategy and decisions and influencing the alignment of all Synopsys revenue and order management operations with sales and business units. This role -will build strong relationships across the broader leadership team to influence decision making in the business. Reporting to this position will be Sr. Director of Rev Rec, Directors of Order management (domestic and international) and a team of 110 people. This position will be located in Mountain View, California (Headquarters).Primary responsibilities: Order to Cash Process Management - Manage the Order to Cash processes including partnering cross functionally with Sales, Sales Ops, Business Unites, Legal & Finance teams to improve execution of post sales processes, including approval process, contract management, order management, billing, invoice management, credit, collections, and cashManage and develop a high-performing team where inclusion and diversity are leveraged for innovation and continuous improvement. Develop a culture of collaboration, training, and success in the revenue organizationProvide leadership and feedback on employee performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Drive employee engagement and career development for teamMeet financial goals of department by identifying and leading initiatives that continually drive process improvement through organization. Provide business partnering and decision support on complex deals and new product launches. Review non-standard sales contracts for compliance with accounting rules and company policy to assist in structuring deals and contract terms and conditions. Review new product offerings and provide guidance in the system set up and roll outIntegrate acquisition processes and personnel into centralized teams, processes, and systemsOversee internal control process including identifying and updating key controls and process narratives to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for order to cash process. Assist the Account Management and Sales teams in resolving escalated customer inquiries. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and provide support as requiredProvide detailed revenue analysis to support FP&A, senior management, and the business.Partner with the CAO with ad hoc projects and analysis as requiredKey member of the disclosure committee to ensure the Company had adequate disclosuresMember of Company's Executive Leadership TeamScale Initiatives -- Own and be responsible for conceiving and implementing new technologies, and automation of processes to improve order to cash process. Work closely with the project management office of the CAO team to review the end-to-end order to cash process, evaluate opportunities to scale through digitalization, centralization or automation. Develop a longer-term vision of a scalable order to management process and execute accordingly.Lead software implementations and system enhancement design including providing business requirements and system testing to drive efficiencies by automating manual tasksOperationalize the end-to-end customer journey by implementing order processes, methodologies, and policies with a focus on speed, scale, and repeatability.Lead the finance team in various company-wide initiativesExperience/Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have extensive prior experience as a functional leader of Revenue and / or Order Management preferably in a public company or a large corporate. Ideally, s/he will have a proven track record of leading a revenue and/ or order management department for a company with $4 billion + in revenues. - Specifically, the ideal candidate will possess: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus -20+ years strong technical experience with Revenue Recognition, Order Management and credit functions preferably working for software companies. -Experience in an international business environment. -Experience navigating through complex technical accounting concepts, as has a proven track record in leading technical accounting policy guidance. Must have expertise in US GAAP, and broad exposure to international operations. Prior experience managing relationships with external audit firms is strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills and a customer service, problem solving approach that will facilitate open dialogue and engagement with both external and internal constituencies is a requirement. -Solid technical accounting skills with a business approach. -SAP knowledge a strong plus -Exceptional business acumen and proven success in leading and driving significant process implementations and improvements. Strong knowledge of internal controls and able to determine and recommend new changes to controls.
